With the twist of Calvin and Cesar switching fashion houses, week three of Bravo‘s The Fashion House Ultimate Collection brings about a few expected results, but also a few surprises. To find out what happened, keep reading.
The designers are instructed to meet Iman at Galapagos Art Space in Brooklyn. Once there, Iman dramatically lays out the fashion designers’ latest challenge, which is to create a line of nightlife looks inspired by the femme fatale. She adds they only have one day to put together their fashion show.
House of Emerald goes for a Vampire Goth theme while House of Nami opts for a 40′s style vampire story. With only 24 hours to bring their collections together, the designers race to build their fashion shows. On House of Emerald, Caesar has taken the leadership role and picks out all the fabrics. His suggestions for Tamara don’t go over well though, as she isn’t used to working with other people. Then there’s Golnessa, who seems to be having issues with her garment and worries she might go home. Tamara ultimately decides she doesn’t need to follow her team and can do what she wants. House of Nami, meanwhile, sees Calvin actually working well with his new teammates. However, Ro has trouble finishing his dress and Cesar comes to his former teammate’s aid, which his new teammate Cindy isn’t thrilled with.
After a late night of pulling their designs together, the designers prepare for their fashion show. The Fashion Show Ultimate Collection judges, Iman, Laura Brown and Isaac Mizrahi, watch the models show off the designs on the runway, along with guest judge Dita Von Teese. During House of Emerald’s fashion show, Golnessa worries she hasn’t shown what she can do as a designer, while Caesar thinks he needs to learn to pull back and go back to what he does best, which is simplicity. When it’s House of Nami’s turn, all the designers are happy with what they’ve done individually and as a team – even Calvin.
Once the fashion show is over, the designers meet with Isaac and Iman, who tell them House of Emerald got the sexiness right this week, but what House of Nami lacked in that department, they made up for in cohesiveness. Iman congratulates House of of Nami, who wins the challenge for the third week in a row. Isaac thinks Nami has a sophisticated fabric sense that Emerald has yet to achieve.
Eduardo is singled out with winning look again and is safe from elimination next time, but he is told he should do something different in the next challenge besides a cocktail dress. As the winner, Iman tell Eduardo he has to nominate one member of his fashion house for elimination. Eduardo nominates Calvin because he is new to him, but Isaac thinks there are other designers who should be on the chopping block instead.
House of Emerald and Calvin face the judges and Iman tells Cesar instead of elevating his new fashion house, he sunk to their level. isaac tells House of Emerald they were dead before they started with their poor choice of fabrics. Cindy learns she had the best dress of the night, but she needs to elevate her team. It comes down to Tamara, Golnessa and Cesar, but it’s Tamara who is deemed out of fashion and must leave. Calvin cries and asks if he can go instead of Tamara, but Isaac thinks he should stay and try to win The Fashion Show Ultimate Collection.
