This past week, Iman cringed at Tamara’s outfit, Issac Mizrahi couldn’t understand the toggle and Dita Von Teese was reminded of something on a sale rack. Not exactly high praise from The Fashion Show Ultimate Collection judges, which of course led to Tamara’s elimination. In an extended video interview on Bravo, Tamara shared her thoughts on her design and being on The Fashion Show Ultimate Collection.
Of her elimination, Tamara was shocked and said, “It hurts, but at the same time, you can’t please everyone. So maybe it doesn’t work for them, maybe it works for someone else. I’m still confident in my look. I still love my look. As long as I feel that way, it’s kind of hard to convince me otherwise. It hurts, but I’ve been hurt my whole life. I’ve been criticized a lot. I think the hardest part is just them saying ‘You’re out of fashion.’ I’m like, ‘No I’m not.’”
As for her experience on the Bravo reality show, Tamara shared, “The competition has changed me a lot. Not so much on a personal level, but as far as contacts, getting to know new designers, learning new techniques. I really hope House of Emerald can pull it together and develop great garments, cohesive pieces. I hope Calvin stays for the finale. Calvin crying, like really, really touched me and I really hope that Golnessa finds her inner strength. I know that she says she’s in a funk. I want her to look at it like a second chance.”
Looking towards the future, the Chicago, Illinois based fashion designer mused, “It feels like a door just closed, but no use dwelling on it and taking this home with me. I’d rather leave it right here in New York and go home and focus on rebuilding a collection and showing something. So, I think I’m doing pretty good.”
