You may remember Mike Mizanin (aka “The Miz”) as one of the seven strangers selected to participate in MTV’s The Real World: Back to New York, but now, Mizanin is being recognized for his work in the ring. The Real World alum recently won the WWE Championship! Keep reading for all the details!
Even when we first saw Mike Mizanin on MTV’s The Real World:Back to New York, he expressed interest in one day becoming a professional wrestler, performing as his alter-ego, “The Miz.”
And now, nine years later, the Real World alum has achieved his goal. Not only has “The Miz” been working in his dream job as a pro wrestler, but on November 22d, he scored his greatest wrestling achievement to date–winning the WWE Championship on Monday Night Raw, using his patented “Skull-Crushing Finale” to defeat Randy Orton.
Mike “The Miz” Mizanin not only appeared on The Real World: Back to New York, but he also participated in several Real World Road Rules Challenges over the years, winning both the “Battle of the Seasons” and “The Inferno 2,” until “retiring” from the shows in 2005.
Mizanin then went on to appear on shows like Celebrity Fear Factor, which he won, and landed a spot on the fourth season of MTV’s WWE training series, Tough Enough. Though Mike came in second place in the competition, he ended up getting a developmental deal with the WWE and finally made his television debut as a pro wrestler on “Smackdown!” in 2006.
Since then, “The Miz” has become arguably one of the best villains in the WWE.
