As part of her continued efforts to prevent bullying, this week, Jill Zarin of Bravo’s The Real Housewives of New York City hosted the GLAAD OUT Auction in NYC, and brought out a few of her fellow Housewives to help her raise money and awareness for the cause.
“I’m so excited to work with GLAAD to help plan this event and raise funds for their work to combat bullying and grow acceptance of gay people,” Jill told HollywoodLife.com in an interview. “The way we view others is largely shaped by media images we see every day, so I’m thrilled to support GLAAD to make sure these images build understanding and support.”
Kelly Bensimon was also on hand to lend her support. “This event means a lot of things to me on many different levels,” said Bensimon. “But the most important thing is I’m here to support my friend Jill Zarin and the art world and to combat one of the most serious issues of today.”
Wait–did she say her “friend”? Obviously some things have changed since we last saw the Housewives of NYC!
Also in attendance were Alex McCord and the renewed Ramona Singer (no surprises here), a big advocate for equality.
“I just believe everyone should be treated equally, whether it’s their gender, race, or sexual preference!” said Singer.
Jill Zarin’s giving spirit carried on through the Thanksgiving holiday as she took to her Twitter account to encourage others to donate to another of her favorite charities, Share Our Strength.
