America’s Next Top Model judge and photographer Nigel Barker recently appeared on the MTV show, When I Was 17, to discuss his teenage past. He revealed that he has not always been the put together judge he is now.
Nigel reveals that he used to spend his time off as a teenager at his brother’s home in Europe. “I used to go and spend every summer in Spain at my brother’s house. This particular year, he decided he was going to leave me for a month, which I thought was actually fabulous. Unfortunately, for him, not for me, he left me with his motorcycle.” Nigel recalls taking the motorcycle over to a friend’s house for dinner. He then got back on the road, despite having beer in his system. “I remember going around to my friend’s house and having lunch. I stupidly also had a beer. Don’t drink and drive folks, and here’s the moral of the story.”Â
Nigel ended up crashing the motorcycle and was too drunk to get the motorcycle on the road. ” I left my friend’s driveway and literally as I went out of the driveway, I immediately hit the ground. I skidded all over this gravel, ripped up my leg and one of the prongs of the actual when went straight through my foot.”
It is difficult to imagine our favorite soft-spoken judge doing anything dangerous and illegal. On this latest cycle of America’s Next Top Model, Nigel has encouraged some of the models to be more bold in their personality and show more confidence. Perhaps it is Nigel’s wild streak shining through a bit!
