America’s Next Top Model judge Tyra Banks seems to always have her hand in a number of business projects. She recently revealed that not only will she be using her celebrity for a good cause, she’ll also be using her sense of style and high fashion.
According to Contactmusic, Tyra will be donating one of her designer outfits to raise money for electrification jobs in Rwanda and Haiti. She will join her supermodel and fashion oriented colleagues, Elle MacPherson, Christy Turlington and Brooke Shields on the effort. The outfits will be featured on an online auction site. The organizer of the effort, Elletra Wiedemann revealed, “We have asked about 30 top models, including Tyra Banks, Eva Herzigova, Brooke Shields, Elle MacPherson and Christy Turlington to donate ‘one frickin dress’ they have worn on the red carpet.”
“These gorgeous dresses will be auctioned off on Charitybuzz and the money will go towards buying solar panels for clinics that currently have zero access or very limited access to electricity in Rwanda and Haiti,” said Wiedemann. It was revealed that some of the dresses include a Bally dress worn by Christy Turlington, a pink Ralph Lauren outfit, and a white Roberto Cavalli gown and gold Michael Kors dress worn by Brooke Shields. The charity hopes to raise at least $100,000.
It was not mentioned which of Tyra’s dresses will be featured, but she obviously has many fabulous outfits to choose from. It will be interesting to see which dress Tyra thinks can raise the most money for a wonderful cause.
