While his ex-wife, Kate Gosselin, is set on making her money through books, her TLC reality shows, Kate Plus Eight and Twist of Kate, and other entertainment projects, it looks as though Jon Gosselin is taking a different approach. Sources say that Jon has re-entered the workforce with a “normal” 9 to 5 job. How’s Jon adapting to life–and work–without the cameras?
“On his first day of work, he just loved it. He felt weird that everyone knew who he was. But they didn’t talk about it, it’s a trust issue,” a source close to Jon Gosselin told RadarOnline.com.
Before Jon and Kate Gosselin ended their marriage, Jon made it very clear that he didn’t like life in front of the cameras and that he wasn’t crazy about interactions with fans, which Kate had no problems with. Now, Jon has returned to familiar territory, taking a job in the field that he was in when the original show, Jon and Kate Plus Eight, began.
“The job is information technology based and online marketing. He solves problems and teaches people to solve their problems, he really enjoys it,” said the source. “He’s been trying to start his life again and to give up on TV and just do what he used to do. He lost everything. He was left with two cars and had to start over again and knew he couldn’t go back to a government job. He just wanted to start a normal life, it took him almost a year to find a normal job.”
But getting the “normal life” and job that he wanted wasn’t that easy for Jon Gosselin.
“There were so many things that he had to face without support because there were not a lot of people in the world who could relate to the problems he was facing. He had eight kids at 27-years-old. He was on a reality TV show, he was in the tabloids and then he faced a divorce. It was a lot to deal with all at once,” the source told RadarOnline.com.
So as Kate Gosselin continues to seek more lucrative TV deals, it’s not likely that we’ll be seeing Jon on the small screen anytime soon.
“In 2008, he did a lot of stupid things. Now he’s back on track. He has a great girlfriend and a job and wants to live a normal life. … After he earned the large sums of money he did in reality TV, it is hard to get out of the mind set. But he never wants to go back into it.”
