The reigning champion of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars, Jennifer Grey, is at home recovering from a successful surgery to repair a ruptured disc in her back; an injury which she sustained during the first night of the show’s two night season finale.
Jennifer’s doctor, Robert S. Bray, Jr., removed “a huge fragment” from her back during the procedure, and now, the DWTS champ is resting at her home.
“I’m still recovering at home,” Jennifer Grey told People magazine. “I have to rest a bit more, but I feel great–completely pain free.”
In an interview with Access Hollywood last month, the Dancing with the Stars champion explained that the procedure wouldn’t be as difficult for doctors (or her) as the one that was done to correct problems with her neck, which stemmed from a car accident in the ’80s.
“It’s just gonna be like a little surgery where they take out the ruptured disc thing, and you know, it won’t be a big deal. I’ll be home that night,” said Grey.
Jennifer Grey also cleared up any confusion about whether or not her ruptured disc was in any way related to her neck problems.
“My neck is fine,” Grey said. “My neck did really well because it has a steel plate in it. So, it was really, actually, [it's] probably the strongest part of my body.”
As earlier reported, another Dancing with the Stars alum, Kelly Osbourne, is also getting ready to go under the knife to repair injuries to her feet, which were made worse by her participation on the show.
