After just a few weeks, Skating With the Stars is already over. During the finale, all the eliminated skating pairs return for a final performance, a perfect score is given out to one of the finalists and a winner is announced. To find out who the winner is of the first season of Skating With the Stars keep on reading.

Johnny Weir starts off the Skating With the Stars finale with a performance where he is dressed as a bird, I think, as he is wearing feathers and emerges from a cage. Other Skating With the Stars perfessionals are involved, including Denis Petukhov, Keauna McLaughlin and Jennifer Wester, but it’s definitely Johnny Weir’s show. As mentioned last night, fellow judge Laurieann Gibson choreographed his number.

After Johnny is done, the eliminated celebrities and their professional partners hit the ice, minus Brandon Smith, who is still too sick to perform, but he is in the audience. Sean Young & Denis Petukhov, Vince Neil & Jennifer Wester and Jonny Moseley & Brooke Castile take to the ice to skate one of their previous programs and remind us why they were eliminated. Actually, Jonny Moseley’s skating just made me wish he was in finale.

The finalists skate their favorite programs in hopes of bettering their scores from the first time around. The Real Housewives of New York City‘s Bethenny Frankel and Ethan Burgess decide on a redo of their performance to “You Spin My Head Right Round,” which was their very first routine and earned them a total of 29. Johnny Weir tells Bethenny she skated “up” and like a finalist. Dick Button thinks Bethenny best understands what the competition is about, which is about fun. Tonight he thinks she revealed all of her hard work. Laurieann praises her saying she hit every piece of her choreography. Bethenny receives a total score of 51, even garnering a 10 from Laurieann for artistic impression.

All My Children‘s Rebecca Budig and Fred Palascak choose “Hot and Cold,” a routine that originally earned them a 50. Laurieann thinks she was electrifying and embraced wanting to be a champion. Johnny thinks Rebecca gave them so much soul and the hardest jump combination they’ve seen. He is so proud that she rocked the competition from beginning to end. Dick saw the mark of a champion in her because she went full blast when she didn’t need to. Rebecca receives a perfect score of 60.

After a montage of highlights from Rebecca and Bethenny’s time on the show, the winner is announced. After combining the viewers votes from last night and the judge’s score from tonight the first ever winner of Skating With the Stars is Rebecca Budig and Fred Palascak. Not much of a surprise, but Rebecca is thrilled and shocked nonetheless as she hoists her trophy of golden skates over her head.
