We know… You’re probably thinking that if the producers of American Idol make one more change for Season 10, they’re going to have to come up with a new name for the show. But this one isn’t too bad. In a new preview of the hit FOX reality series, not only do we see a little more of judges Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler, but fans are also introduced to a new word to describe the contestants’ vocals. What is it?
This year, it looks like Idol contestants may have another word to fear–”testy.”
In an all new preview just released by FOX, judges Randy Jackson, Jennifer Lopez, and Steven Tyler are seen critiquing contestants during auditions, and at one point, Steven Tyler refers to one guy’s vocals as “testy.” When Randy starts laughing at Tyler’s word (and probably the fact that it sounds a lot like “testes,” Lopez comes to his defense asking, “You got a better word?”
Uh, yeah! Have you guys ever actually seen American Idol? The word is “pitchy.”
There goes our theory that it’s written somewhere in the judges’ contracts that they have to say “pitchy” a certain amount of times throughout the season.
Don’t worry, we’re pretty sure that as long as Randy Jackson is on the panel, the word “pitchy” will never die, but we like that Steven Tyler isn’t afraid to shake things up a bit.
