Scott MacIntyre has a lot to celebrate this holiday season. The Arizona native and Season 8 finalist on FOX’s American Idol just learned that his holiday song, “Christmas Angel,” gained 31 points on the AC Indie charts this week and is one of the top holiday indie singles of the year. Keep reading for more details.
Scott MacIntyre of American Idol has fond memories of the holidays growing up, and it was those memories that served as the inspiration for his song, “Christmas Angel,” which just this week became one of the top holiday indie singles of 2010.
“Every year at Christmas time, our family would always put an angel on top of the tree,” said MacIntyre. “I started thinking about it…no matter how many ornaments you hang on the branches, nothing outshines the angel on the top. Just like the tree wouldn’t be complete without the angel, I know my Christmas wouldn’t be complete without the angel in my life.”
The holiday may be over, but you can still purchase the full EP of Christmas Angel on iTunes or at ScottMacIntyre.com, which also features MacIntyre’s arrangements of other holiday classics.
Scott MacIntyre released his first album, entitled Heartstrings, in March 2010. On the day of his album’s release, MacIntyre returned to the American Idol stage to perform Billy Joel’s “Tell Her About It” with Matt Giraud, another finalist from Season 8 of the FOX reality show.
