As we gear up for the new season of American Idol on FOX, new judge Steven Tyler is keeping busy as he and show alumni, Jennifer Hudson were rocking The Kennedy Center Honors with their performances last night. Keep reading for all the details!
American Idol‘s judge Steven Tyler and Jennifer Hudson were a part of the performances at last night’s Kennedy Center Honors to help honor some of 33rd annual award nominees, including Oprah Winfrey and Paul McCartney. Steven Tyler showed up and rocked a performance of four songs of The Beatles’ “Abbey Road” for honoree Paul McCartney. Steven Tyler performed a medley of “She Came in Though the Bathroom Window”, “Golden Slumbers”, “Carry That Weight” and “The End”. He then returned for the finale performance of “Hey Jude” along with Mavis Staples and James Taylor. Steven, who seemed unsure of his ability to critique the Idol hopefuls, certainly proved that he can still belt out the melodies and do it well.
While Steven Tyler was busy honoring Paul McCartney with his performances, another American Idol name – alumni Jennifer Hudson did a little honoring of her own. Jennifer paid tribute to another honoree, Oprah Winfrey, with her performance of “I’m here” from “The Color Purple”. If you missed any of the performances, be sure to check out CBS.com or Kennedy Center Honors for more information, videos and details!
