With Season eleven of The Biggest Loser premiering last night on NBC, what better way to celebrate a new season than with a new line of healthy meals? That’s right, NBC has teamed up with Chef Calvin Harris to create a new line of healthy meal options for those of us trying to lose weight at home. Keep reading for all the exciting details on this new product line called Simply Sensible!

In a recent press release, NBC announced that they would be teaming up with Chef Calvin Harris to create Simply Sensible, a line of healthy meals inspired by meals eaten on the ranch of The Biggest Loser. The Simply Sensible meal line, which is expected to hit shelves this month is an effort put forth to tackle America’s growing obesity problem by providing quality, gourmet tasting and healthy meal options. Chef Calvin Harris, who has created notable products for large restaurants had this to say about the partnering with NBC and The Biggest Loser “I am very excited to be partnering with NBC/Reveille on creating Simply Sensible the first of its kind refrigerated, fully-prepared healthy meal line, ‘The Biggest Loser’ has become such a phenomenon with a loyal following and it was the ideal partnership to launch Simply Sensible in order to impact a large population of consumers and provide a meal option for the contestants while on the show.”

Simple Sensible meals are made fresh, never frozen and should becoming available in your grocer’s refrigerated section this month for around $6.99 each for two servings and will include five meals to choose from including Lasagna with Meat Sauce, Zing Chicken with brown rice, Pot Roast with mashed potatoes, Mediterranean Chicken with pasta and Beef Tips and brown rice. Each meal will contain under 250 calories per serving and they already have gotten the American Heart Association’s seal of approval. But the question is – how tasty will they be? According to NBC, Chef Harris “wanted to create meals that had an abundance of flavor including spices and herbs and very sumptuous sauces for a more gourmet tasting, yet healthy lifestyle option.” and “Such an emphasis eliminates the hassle of finding meals that meet your nutritional, calendar and palette needs.” Now I don’t know about you, but I cannot wait to try these when they hit the shelves and will be happy to report back my findings for all of our loyal readers!

Be sure to tune in Tuesday at 8 pm EST on NBC for a brand new episode of The Biggest Loser! See you after the show!
