ABC’s former Bachelorette and Bachelor contestant DeAnna Pappas took to her blog to comment on being one of the two girls Brad Womack left at the rose ceremony without a proposal. Read more for her take on what happened…
It’s been a few years since the famous Bachelor conclusion and DeAnna is ready to move on, sharing her experience on her website.
“I was the girl left standing, dazed and confused because Brad didn’t choose me,” Pappas writes. “Let’s be honest here, not only was I angry and upset, I was also sad and devastated. I fell in love….or at least what I thought was my version of love at the time. Brad broke my heart.”
Pappas says she got over the breakup in time. “Brad dumped me…I was sad for a bit…in the end, we are great friends and I have thanked him for making the best decision he could.”
She’s gotten over the initial upset and is now taking the experience in stride, assuring everyone she is not still in love with Womack.
“I totally enjoy getting together with my girlfriends, eating yummy food, drinking good wine, and gossiping over The Bachelor and The Bachelorette!!,” Pappas admits. This seems to include the most recent season, featuring Womack as second time around Bachelor, which Pappas couldn’t help watching.
While Pappas says time cured her sadness, she says Womack had a very different experience and caught a lot of slack for making his decision. “I think that is sad. He truly believed he was doing the right thing and people across America hated him for it,” Pappas says.
Pappas has no hard feelings towards the former “Bachelor” and the two remain friends, though she did appear on the season premiere to confront Womack with other dumped contestant Jenni Croft as she was skepticle about his ability to actually choose someone this time around.
After speaking with Womack, Pappas gives the same recommendation Jillian Harris had for fans which is to give him a break because everyone deserves a second chance.
Things are going well for Pappas after her stint on both shows. She is now happily engaged to Stephen Stagliano and excited about the wedding.
