Worst Cooks In America: Farm Fresh Eggs And Pork

January 09, 2011 08:56 PM by Lisa Princ

Tonight on a brand new episode of Worst Cooks In America on Food Network the remaining fourteen recruits are surprised with a visit to the farm in which they must create perfect eggs and later perfect pork for their main dish challenge. Keep reading to find out how they did in week two at boot camp!

Food Network’s Worst Cooks In America returns tonight as the recruits are awoken by a chicken before they are informed they will be headed to the farm. Once they arrived at the farm they are greeted by Anne and Robert who are going to teach them to make the perfect omelet. Anne & Robert of course will be testing their skills in this challenge as well as how well they are paying attention as they all have to recreate a gourmet omelet accompanied by a special side salad.

As they attempt to recreate the perfect omelets that Robert and Anne showed them, some of the recruits seem to have an easier time this week, while others struggled with it. On Anne’s red team we watched as Priscilla lost control once again, and Anne even had to ask her to put the knife down before running off to get something. Meanwhile Kelsey wound up destroying her omelet when she tried to get it out of the pan. Jen ended up with a burnt omelet that also looked horrific while Erika surprisingly seemed to have it all together and was the winner of this challenge for the read team today.

On the blue side of things, Kat was having a hard time as she tried to get out of tasting the omelet claiming she was not an egg person, but Robert was not having any of that and made her taste it. Matt was having what looked like spasms while trying to cut up his vegetables for the omelet – I am surprised he did not lose a finger in this challenge. Jeff decided he needed to use excess oil for his omelet and it did not work in his favor, especially after he added the cheese and he was then left with a burnt, greasy omelet. In the end Robert was stuck tasting many burnt omelets, but the best omelet he had was Georg’s who wound up winning the challenge on the blue team.

Then it was time for the main dish challenge on Worst Cooks In America it was time for some farm fresh pork. Anne’s team would be recreating an Asian pork chop with spinach and green beans, while Robert’s team would be making pork cutlets with herb butter and asparagus. For this main dish challenge though, Robert and Anne decided to switch things up a bit for the recruits and take away the chalk board with the recipe and instructions. However, each recruit would help the chef in one step of the preparation, again both chefs were looking to see who was paying attention.

When it was time to recreate the dish, most of the recruits took notes and were happily attempting to recreate their dishes, when Robert and Anne pulled out one more surprise – they took away the notebooks, so the recruits were left with nothing more than their memory to complete the dish. They were however able to ask one another for help in their steps which many of them did. With this, you are correct if you assume that Priscilla once again went nuts as did a few others who did not remember the recipe or directions.

On the red side, most of the team wound up burning their pork chops, while on the blue team we saw too many or too little cutlets. Kelly, who made a habit of throwing away all her excess food, actually wound up throwing away her second pork cutlet and then had to use one of Anna’s. Jeff on the other hand decided to try a new attempt at impressing Robert after his terrible omelet earlier. Jeff decided to make three cutlets, but Robert quickly told him that was a huge mistake and not following the recipe. So what did Jeff do next? Jeff decided to change the recipe and add flavors that were also not part of the recipe in yet another attempt to impress Robert.

In the end, the best pork dishes were Matt on the blue side, who surprisingly got it together and showed Robert that he meant business tonight. On the red side it was Carlos by default as Anne stated since there was no perfect dish for her team. The worst dishes wound up being Anthony and Priscilla on the red team, and Jeff and Kat on the blue team. Ultimately, Jeff should have just stuck with the recipe instead of trying to impress Chef Robert as that ended up being his downfall and he was sent home. Anne for some strange reason sees something in Priscilla because she chose Anthony to send home due to his strong starts and poor finishes.

Love the show, looking to obtain the recipes for the “perfect omelets” that were featured on the show last night. They look and sound wonderful (with Chef Burrell and Irvine cooking them of course). Thanks
