In Brad Womack’s second blog about his time on The Bachelor, he talks about his first one-on-one dates with Ashley H and Jackie, as well as the group date filming PSAs for the American Red Cross. What did he have to say about Raichel and Melissa’s drama? Read on to find out…
The Bachelor, Brad Womack, began his second blog for People by thanking everyone who tuned in to watch, before getting right to his first one-on-one date with Ashley H. He described what a busy day it had been. Brad had appeared on The Ellen Degeneres Show that morning and then was introduced as The Bachelor on Dancing With The Stars before rushing back to prepare for the date.
Brad says his initial nerves dissipated after he arrived to pick up Ashley H, who looked gorgeous. Of the date, Brad said, “The night could not have gone better. I said that date was the best first date of my entire life, and I mean it. I left that night thinking, “If this is how every date is going to go, I am no doubt going to find my wife along this journey.”"
The group date was a bit more daunting. With 15 women, Brad says he was concerned about even getting to have a conversation with any of them, but in the end it was fine. Of the tension that began to build among the women during the group date, Brad notes, “I don’t know if the episode actually allows the viewers to see the extent of the issues developing between some of them. I tried so hard to keep a positive vibe for the party.”
The other issue, of course, was the fact that it was Michelle’s 30th birthday. Brad comments, “I knew it was Michelle’s 30th birthday (and after watching the episode, so did everyone else in America). What you didn’t see was that I surprised her with a cake. Michelle and I had a great private conversation.”
Brad also had a one-on-one date with Jackie, aka ‘The Pretty Woman’ date. He was enthusiastic about being able to give Jackie this experience, saying, “She is unassuming, polite, genuine and so deserving of the finer things in life (only because she doesn’t expect them). I wish I could describe how I felt when I saw her face light up as the door to the suite opened … priceless.” All in all, Brad described the date as ‘incredible’.
At the cocktail party, Brad was snatched up by Michelle who, oddly, wanted to grill him about where he buys his coffee. Of his encounter with Emily, Brad observed, “What was I thinking during that conversation? “You make me lose words.” My God, I was a stuttering idiot. Those are the moments when I watch myself and grimace. ”
Of the Raichel and Melissa drama, Brad claims he was oblivious about it until speaking with each of them, and still didn’t realize the extent of it until he watched the episode. He was thrilled to have Ali Fedotowsky and Roberto Martinez’s help in evaluating the womens’ intentions, adding that Roberto advised him to be empathetic toward the woman he chose, explaining how difficult it will be for her to see Brad with the other women as they watch all the episodes of the show.
As for the Rose Ceremony, Brad says he was confident in his decisions, explaining, “I thought Rachel and Melissa were too caught up in the drama to build a relationship with me. Keltie and I didn’t have a chance to bond. I was completely surprised, though, while watching her response to my saying goodbye. I honestly didn’t think she’d care that much. It didn’t make me rethink my decision – it just opened my eyes to the fact that she truly cared. She’s a very unique woman that will not have a problem finding a date.”
