PopEater reports the pint-sized Jersey Shore reality star is over her catchy nickname.
“I miss my real name. I miss people calling me Nicole,” Polizzi tells the Associated Press.
PopEater says the “Snooki” nickname stuck after her rise to fame on MTV’s hit reality show.
According to Us Magazine, Polizzi once tried to trademark her nickname. Her application was denied as the nickname bore too much of a similarity to the title of a children’s book: “The Adventures of Snooky.”
Three seasons into the hit show and Polizzi is growing tired of not being called by her actual first name.
The 23-year-old reality star is promoting her new book, “A Shore Thing,” which features both names on the title–the author listed as Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi with “Snooki” appearing front and center in larger, bold type.
PopEater says Polizzi is also enjoying Jersey Shore’s season three success. According to the Associated Press, the returning MTV show brought in a record 8.45 million viewers for its premiere Jan. 6.
PopEater asked Polizzi if she would be up for a spin-off show like fellow castmember Pauly D’s upcoming new show.
“Of course, if the opportunity is given to me, I’m gonna run with it,”Polizzi tells the website.
PopEater says while Polizzi would certainly do another show there are currently no plans for one featuring the reality star.
The new season of Jersey Shore currently airs Thursdays on MTV at 10/9c.
