This week on all new episode of Bravo’s Real Housewives of Atlanta, the ladies are off to Miami for one of the stops on Kandi Burruss’ promo tour and to celebrate Cynthia Bailey’s upcoming nuptials, but when Kim Zolciak tries to make plans to change their “Girls Only” weekend, she stirs up trouble with her best frenemy, NeNe Leakes–again. What else did you miss?
On this week’s all new episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta on Bravo, it’s Day 2 of Kandi Burruss‘ promo tour, and Kim Zolciak is getting restless having to deal without smoking and drinking on the bus. When they have to make yet another stop for Kim to have a cigarette, Kandi’s decided that she’s had enough of Kim and her assistant Sweetie.
After another B12 shot (seriously), Kim gives NeNe Leakes a call to invite her to come on the bus and then watch one of her performances, hoping that she’ll help lighten up the mood.
At work, NeNe’s about to present her Jermaine Dupri interview on her entertainment segment, “Keepin’ It Real with NeNe,” but when Kim and Kandi watch the interview, Kim is NOT impressed with the fact that NeNe knocked her age and “talent” when talking to the superstar producer, and wants to call her and ask her if she thinks that 32 is too old to have a pop hit. Kandi urges Kim not to call NeNe and to instead have her come see her performance and let the audience reaction to her song speak for itself.
Bride-to-be Cynthia Bailey and Sheree Whitfield stop by Phaedra Parks’ house for lunch, and are surprised to find out that she prepared the entire meal herself. With Phaedra being overwhelmed with work and motherhood, and Cynthia burdened with wedding plans, they agree that the upcoming trip to Miami will be a good break for them all, and then baby Ayden proceeds to spit up right on Cynthia.
On their way to Orlando, Kandi and Kim’s entourage stops at a roadside BBQ put in Georgia, but Kim has trouble finding something to eat on the menu since she’s a vegetarian and isn’t happy that no one took that into consideration when choosing a restaurant. (Um– wasn’t she eating pepperoni pizza in a previous episode?) Instead, she has a smoke outside with the bus driver and Sweetie, and Kandi and Sweetie have a small scuffle when some cigarette smoke blows into Kandi’s face.
Cynthia Bailey and Peter have 15 days until their wedding and Peter drops a bomb when he announces that he completely shut down his failing restaurant, Uptown. Cynthia’s first thought was that she wasn’t going to get the money back that she lent him for the restaurant, then she realizes that without any income from Uptown, their wedding plans are in danger.
Peter says that they need about $20,000 to make Cynthia’s dream wedding happen, and tells her not to worry, but Cynthia’s concerned that they won’t be able to do it with so little time. When Cynthia starts freaking out, Peter gets upset with her for not being able to handle the news, but then allows her to cry on his shoulder and apologizes.
Back on the bus, Kandi is getting fed up with all of the drama and noise Kim Zolciak brings with her–especially her relationship with Sweetie.
Kim’s daughter Arianna calls her in tears, telling her that she misses her, which upsets Kim, but Sweetie tells her that it’s all for the best.
On Day 3, Kandi and Kim are headed to a meet & greet at a salon, and again– Kim needs a cigarette, but when Sweetie walks outside without shoes on and Derek J says that it’s because she’s been “hangin’ around with white people too much,” Sweetie gets angry and tells Kim.
Kim yells into the bus, “What’s wrong with white people?”, which prompts Kandi to get off the bus and confront the two of them, telling them that Sweetie’s taking things way too seriously. Sweetie says that it’s Kandi that’s been uptight throughout the trip, and Kandi explains that it’s because Sweetie and Kim are always so loud and obnoxious. Agreeing to disagree, Kandi tells Sweetie that she just won’t say anything to her anymore.
After the uproar, the ladies make their way into the salon and pose for pictures with their fans.
Cynthia Bailey and her sister/assistant meet with NeNe Leakes for lunch and she tells them about Peter closing Uptown. NeNe doesn’t like that Peter won’t tell Cynthia about his plans for finding the money for the wedding. Cynthia’s sister tells her that she thinks she should postpone the wedding until things are better, and NeNe wants her to call it off altogether, but Cynthia is hesitant because she wants her wedding, and hopes that their situation (and relationship) will improve afterward.
Phaedra Parks and her husband, Apollo, are making breakfast together, and Phaedra’s not satisfied with how much (or how little) Apollo’s been helping out. Apollo suggests that they should designate days that each of them spend watching the baby, but Phaedra doesn’t think he’d be able to handle the demands of parenting as well as she does.
Apollo’s not worried about Phaedra leaving for Miami and having to be with the baby and is ready for the challenge, but Phaedra isn’t as confident in him, and calls her mother to come help out while she’s gone.
Kandi, Kim & company are excited to be spending an evening in a hotel instead of the bus.
In the hotel room, Kim talks to her wig stylist, Derek J, and asks him about the whole “white people” issue. Derek tells Kim that it’s something that she just doesn’t understand, but that other people see all the time when she’s with Sweetie.
NeNe Leakes arrives to support Kim during her performance and Kim tells NeNe that it’s been stressful on the tour so far.
On the bus before the performance, NeNe tries to give Kim some pointers, but Kandi doesn’t like that the evening seems to be turning into the “Kim and NeNe show.”
It’s NeNe’s first time seeing Kim performing, and she is not impressed with the fact that she’s simply singing over a track– like the kids at her son’s school talent shows, but she’s surprised that Kim didn’t get booed off the stage.
After the show, NeNe, who’s had a little too much to drink, starts bashing Kim’s performance– jokingly.
Kandi’s concerned because while she’s on the road, her daughter Riley will be staying with her father, who’s making an attempt to be a part of her life, for the first time.
When NeNe gets on the bus, she tells Kandi and Don Juan that Kim’s been complaining about how they’ve said that her cigarette breaks are so frequent, but when Kandi tells NeNe what’s really been going on on the bus, they all have a laugh and agree that the way Kim talks to Sweetie is way out of line.
On the way to Miami, Kim’s making arrangements for the ladies’ “Girls’ Weekend,” and includes Don Juan and Sweetie, which sets NeNe off. Kim insists that it’s justified because ultimately, the trip is for business, which Don Juan and Sweetie are a part of.
NeNe quickly tells Kim that what she does isn’t “work,” like it is for Kandi, and when Kim starts yelling at her, NeNe tells her that her “slave” is behind her, referring to Sweetie. Kim takes offense to what NeNe’s said and tells NeNe to focus on her own life, suggesting that NeNe is jealous of her success, and even refers to her as an “intern at 11 Alive” (oh, no!). NeNe erupts over Kim’s use of the word “intern” and Kim then asks her that if she’s so unsuccessful, why did NeNe have to talk about her on her show?
The two start going back and forth, with NeNe calling Kim immature, and NeNe eventually jumps up and goes after her, but luckily, Kandi and Don Juan get in between the women.
Phaedra Parks, Cynthia Bailey, and Sheree Whitfield are on their way to the mansion and looking forward to a relaxing weekend, but little do they know what they’ve got in store for them when they meet up with Kim, Kandi, and NeNe!
