We all know her as the host who issues all the challenges on The Biggest Loser on NBC, but Alison Sweeney is also the star of hit daytime drama Days of our Lives as well as a wife and mother. So how does this busy mom of two have time to write a book? She did, in hopes of helping women who are struggling with weight issues as she has had in the past. Recently, Alison talked about her book and her motivation to write it. Keep reading to hear more about what Alison had to say!
The Biggest Loser‘s Alison Sweeney recently published a new book called “The Mommy Diet: A Month-by-Month Plan for a Healthy Body and Mind Before, During and After Pregnancy” in which she shares the importance of keeping in shape and losing weight before you get pregnant. Alison says of her approach “”It’s not about making you instantly skinny – sorry, that’s just not possible or healthy.” Alison also encourages new moms not to put too much pressure on themselves as she writes about moms saying “Your body has been through so much. I want to tell every new mother out there: Give yourself a break! There will be plenty of time to get back into shape.”
When asked what her motivation was to write a book for expectant mothers, Alison replied with “I think itâ€™s for all momâ€™s out there. Anyone who needs a little encouragement to focus on themselves in their busy lives, taking care of others. I think itâ€™s unique because itâ€™s focus is on the mom, and her health â€“ physically & mentally!â€ As for staying healthy and maintaining her weight on the go, Alison credits Jillian Michaels for helping point her in the direction of healthy protein bars which keep her from snacking on junk. In the spirit of good health, Alison has also mentioned that she is currently working on helping her overweight dog get back to a healthy weight as well – if we hear more on that story, we’ll be sure to give you all the details!
