It’s an all new episode of Bravo’s Real Housewives of Atlanta and the drama between NeNe Leakes and Kim Zolciak continues as the ladies meet for a girlfriends’ getaway in Miami to celebrate Cynthia Bailey’s upcoming nuptials. But with tensions rising between Cynthia and Peter, is the self-professed runaway bride thinking of running again? Keep reading for everything you missed on this week’s supersized episode!
Ahhh…Miami. A great place for some sun, fun, and relaxation with the girls; and the trip couldn’t have come at a more perfect time. At least, that’s what Sheree Whitfield, Cynthia Bailey, and Phaedra Parks thought before Kandi Burruss and Kim Zolciak’s tour bus pulled up, and all the drama that was on it threatens to ruin their weekend!
The Hotlanta Housewives are staying at an estate in Miami that belongs to a friend of Kim’s, real estate mogul Thomas Kramer, but instead of trying to move on from their horrible fight, NeNe Leakes gets off the bus and immediately starts telling the other ladies that Kim was trying to hi-jack their weekend by inviting Don Juan and Sweetie.
Sheree Whitfield is shocked to see NeNe and Kim argue so intensely, and doesn’t want to mention that she invited her friend and hair stylist Lawrence to come along too. Oops!
NeNe continues to yell at Kim Zolciak, claiming that she has to speak to her “like a child,” though we’re pretty sure that it’s frowned upon to tell a kid that you’re going to “snap their necks and pop their eyeballs out all at the same time,” but, what do we know?
As Cynthia Bailey, NeNe, and Kim enter the mansion, Sheree and Phaedra rush to the bus to talk to Kandi Burruss and find out what happened that caused NeNe and Kim to lose their minds. Kandi does her best to tell what happened on the bus (we can sooo relate), and Phaedra and Sheree wonder how they’re all going to make it through the weekend.
In the mansion, NeNe continues to yell and act a fool, though Kim’s trying not to be rude to the owner of the estate–probably the most reasonable thing she’s done in three seasons of the show. When Kim introduces Thomas to NeNe and Cynthia, NeNe asks him how he could be friends with someone like Kim, which is odd, since she was friends with her up until about 2 hours before meeting Thomas.
Kim asks NeNe nicely and calmly not to be rude to her guest while they’re staying there, and NeNe gets in Kim’s face, telling her that she doesn’t have to stay at the mansion and would rather go to a hotel.
But after seeing the estate, which is quite impressive, but even more creepy, the other ladies wonder if they want to stay there themselves.
Kim Zolciak and Sweetie take another smoke break and Kim asks Sweetie if she would tell her if she felt she was being treated like a slave, but as Sweetie notes, “Slaves don’t get paid, dumb ass!”
The other ladies, however, still think that Kim shouldn’t speak to Sweetie that way, and can somewhat empathize with NeNe Leakes. Kandi says that she’s tried to talk to Kim about that before, but apparently, things didn’t quite sink in. NeNe tells the ladies that she wants to go stay in a hotel to have some time to herself and cool, but they all convince her to stay.
Later that evening, the Housewives all gather for dinner at a table that looks like it has stripper poles coming out of it, and have a a seemingly forced conversation with Cynthia Bailey about her wedding. Other than NeNe, none of the other ladies know about what’s going on with Cynthia and Peter and their financial woes. As they start to wonder why she doesn’t sound so thrilled to talk about the wedding, Lawrence walks in, which further upsets NeNe Leakes.
The next day, Kim and Kandi have the final show of their tour which is followed by Cynthia’s fashion show. Kim, knowing that she’s running late, decides to spend a little time with Thomas–and flirt–by the pool, but insists that she wants to end things with a bang to prove to NeNe that she does have talent. Unfortunately–or fortunately, however you want to look at it–there’s only time for Kim to do one song, so she opts for ‘Tardy for the Party.’
Kandi sings her song, ‘Fly Above,’ which Kim says is written about her, though NeNe argues that Kim is “the drama” that the song talks about. The tour is officially over, and Kandi Burruss couldn’t be happier with its success–or the fact that it’s finally over.
Back at the estate for lunch, NeNe’s friend, Diana, arrives. When Sweetie walks out with her suitcase, Kim tells her that it’s okay for her to stay since Diana is there, and says that she was going to send Sweetie home as a courtesy since NeNe was making such a big deal about her being there. NeNe claims that she wasn’t making a big deal out of anything (ha!), and says that Sweetie can stay. Diana then tells Kim to keep her name out of things and the two go back and forth, as NeNe sits there looking smugly at Kim, then tells her to watch herself with her “b words” for the rest of the weekend.
It’s time for Cynthia Bailey’s fashion show, so we get to see her get all glammed up. The ladies are all in the audience to support her and are shocked to see her ba-dunk! Who knew?!
With the wedding less than a week away, everyone has questions for Cynthia about how she’s holding up. Cynthia says that she’s anxious, and when Kandi Burruss asks her if they’ve decided on a honeymoon spot, Cynthia breaks down and has to leave the room. Phaedra Parks suggests that NeNe go talk to her. NeNe spends her time trying to convince Cynthia that they should just leave, but it’s obvious that it’s more for her than for Cynthia.
None of the other ladies can understand why Cynthia is so upset. They all think that if money is so tight, they should go to a Justice of the Peace and not be so obsessed with keeping up appearances, and tell her what they think. Then, NeNe says that they need to pack to go home. Cynthia doesn’t seem so sure though, and everyone else can tell that it’s NeNe that’s behind the whole plan. Either way, the Housewives agree that Cynthia or no Cynthia, strippers are still a necessity.
NeNe, Diana, and Cynthia are off talking together, with NeNe trying to convince Cynthia to go, and Sheree Whitfield walks in and reminds Cynthia that they are all there for her and that despite her stress, she should try to have a good time. Cynthia ultimately decides to have the party, and NeNe is visibly upset.
So, let the festivities begin!
To start things off, Phaedra Parks lets Cynthia know that no matter what she decides to do with the wedding, they’re all going to support her. Then, Lawrence does some uncanny impressions of each of the ladies, and we learn that Cynthia isn’t exactly a fan of doing “sexual favors” for her man. To top off the night, Phaedra Parks, attorney at law, gives Cynthia her gift– a few of her clients– 2 strippers! What a great way to end their trip!
Next week, the season finale! Will Cynthia finally walk down the aisle, or will she run again? Tune in next week to find out!
