The Real Housewives of Atlanta: Kandi Burruss Explains Why She Agreed to Tour with Kim Zolciak

January 24, 2011 03:30 PM by Shayla Perry

In last night’s super-sized episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Kandi Burruss’ promo tour for her new album, Kandi Koated, finally came to a klose, and no one could have been happier than Kandi herself. But with all the drama, fans of the Bravo reality show were left to wonder: Why did Kandi invite Kim Zolciak to go on tour with her in the first place? Fresh off of her tour with American Idol’s Fantasia, Kandi Burruss took to her blog to answer that very question, and to address fans who felt that she “disrespected” Kim Zolciak.

Who could have predicted that there would be so much trouble if you put two of The Real Housewives of Atlanta on a bus together– with cameras? Umm–we could! So why didn’t the usually reasonable Kandi Burruss see this one coming? In her blog, Kandi answered fans who began to question her judgment (and sanity) after seeing the last few episodes of the show.

“After last season during our off time, a promoter paid Kim [Zolciak] and I to do a show together and it went really well, so when it was suggested that Kim and I do another tour together, I was cool with it,” explains Burruss. “We were taping the show, and having her open up for me sounded like something fun to do.”

As for the fans of Kim Zolciak who feel that Kandi Burruss dissed the “Ring Didn’t Mean a Thing” singer during their stop at The Thirsty Beaver, Burruss says that she meant no disrespect.

“Everyone knows that last season NeNe [Leakes] called Kim a monkey with a wig on, so I was just making a joke when they were coming up with alternate names for the Thirsty Beaver,” says Kandi. “Now, my joke may not have been funny to her, but I wasn’t trying to disrespect her. Also, when Don Juan and Kim were going back and forth about her being risque or not because she did ‘The Ring Didn’t Mean A Thing,’ while dating a married man, I tried to stay out of their disagreement. But when she said, ‘Poppa never cheated on me,’ come on now! You all know that didn’t make sense. I couldn’t help it. I had to say something!”

Don’t forget to check in with Kandi and the rest of the Hotlanta Housewives on the season finale of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Sunday, January 30th at 10|9c.  And to purchase Kandi Burruss’ new album, Kandi Koated, you can click here! We’re sure “The Ring Didn’t Mean a Thing” is available somewhere too–if you’re interested.

You are a lady the jackie kennedy of Ladies of color. You handle yourself well and are more refined than those you are in a circle with. And Please you cannot possibly think that Kim has any talent in music or voice. But after listening to her you sounded like Julie Andrews. I think you need to drop the extra baggage and be a solo performer. NeNe you need a little polishing like taking your voice down a few decibles. and Listen to what is being said. It seems as though you are preparing your next sentence and not listening to your friends. Kim do you have any natural hair and you have 2 young girls and dress like a hooker. Better reexamine How you want your girls to think of you. All of your dresses need to get away from all of the cellulite and be a more respectful lenght. Maybe a few injections of class would be good for all of you.

Kandi is so talented. Kim is disgusting. I can’t quite comprehend why Kandi would ever help Kim, after Kim, once again, thinks she deserves the royalties of KANDI’s work! Kim is plain gross. ewww

Can’t believe that Kandi lets Kim play her the same way she plays Sweetie. I really believe that Kim does think she is better than all the rest of the ladies on the show. Nene may come off as a bully, but at least Kim isn’t taking her to the cleaners. No sympathy for the instigator (Kim), and someone who prides herself on breaking up relationships between people just to pay her bills.
