It’s the finale of The Fashion Show Ultimate Collection and Jeffrey, Calvin and Dominique compete to win $125,000 and a spread in Harper’s Bazaar. After ten weeks, who created the Ultimate Collection? Keep reading to find out.
Jeffrey, Dominique and Calvin walk into the showroom to find six looks from each of them displayed on mannequins. Iman greets them and details the final three designers’ looks over the season. She then announces that they will have to create nine looks in seven days, all on their own – not as fashion houses.
Back in The Fashion Show Ultimate Collection workroom, Isaac Mizrahi meets with each designer to critique their mood boards. Calvin tells their mentor he is trying to convey the journey he went on from angry, at the beginning of the competition, to the more mellow person he’s become. Isaac suggests he take time with the making of his clothes because they have to be great. Dominique tells Isaac she’s inspired by the silence that’s finally befallen them after all the noise throughout the season and she wants to reflect her own journey. When it’s Jeffrey’s turn, he is cautioned about his choice of red, which is chosen to honor his late mother. Isaac tells him to be bold and modern with it. He also advises Jeffrey go for a simpler arc than what his mood board suggests.
The designers get down to work and Calvin finishes his collection two days early so he annoys Jeffrey and Dominique by offering suggestions on their garments. He also starts to work on an extra look for himself, since he has so much time on his hands. His collection is all blacks and greys because he’s superstitious and doesn’t like red. However, he makes a bold move by choosing red for his last look in honor of his lover, who is in poor health.
As they work, Iman drops by to tell the designers they must now create a tenth look based on the judges’ suggestions. However, they will receive help from previously eliminated contestants. Calvin is assigned Tamara, Jeffrey gets Cindy and Dominique of course gets David, who she is over the moon to see.
At the fashion show, Stefan surprises the designers by revealing their family and friends are in the audience to support them. Also in attendance are guest judges Mary J. Blige and Harper’s Bazaar Editor-in-Chief Glenda Bailey, along with Isaac, Iman and Laura Brown.
After the fashion show, the final three designers face the judges. Dominique is critiqued first and Glenda Bailey tells her she thought there wasn’t enough of her personality in her collection, but Isaac thinks she really showed them something and Laura is pleased with her looks. Jeffrey is next and is told the red he used was a great addition to his collection. Mary J. Blige ‘squealed’ over his tenth look. She tells him she would wear everything that came down the runway during his show. Isaac equates his collection to a building orgasm. Calvin is last to face the judges and is praised for his looks, but Iman didn’t like his pant suit. However, Isaac tells him the collection was divine.
The judges deliberate and then announce all three designers put on a great fashion show. Dominique is called youthful, unique and ambitious. Jeffrey has proven he has a wonderful understanding of the female body. Calvin showed restraint and produced stunning looks of the moment. Iman admits it was a tough decision, but Dominique is the first to be eliminated. It comes down to Calvin and Jeffrey. But there can be only one winner on the Bravo reality show and Jeffrey is told he has created the Ultimate Collection.
