American Idol: Randy Jackson Says He Is Not “The Mean Judge”

February 01, 2011 02:00 PM by Lisa Princ

Despite Jennifer Lopez’s remarks that Randy Jackson is the new mean judge on American Idol on FOX, Randy Jackson disagrees and said in a recent radio interview that he is not the mean judge nor is he trying to fill Simon Cowell’s shoes. Keep reading to hear what Randy had to say!

American Idol’s only remaining original judge, Randy Jackson recently told Ryan Seacrest on his radio show that he is not trying to be the mean judge this season or fill in Simon Cowell’s shoes for that matter. Randy told Ryan “”I wouldn’t say I stepped into the Simon Cowell’s shoes. I don’t think those shoes could be filled, nor would I want to be in them! But I think you’ll see a lot of excitement.” When asked about Jennifer Lopez’s comment, Randy replied “Oh come on! Jennifer, come on, take it back! It’s not true!”

So what exactly can fans expect out of Randy this season? While he may not be trying to be the mean judge, he certainly came close during the past two weeks of auditions. Randy, however claims “I’m a very humble, kind, mild-mannered man and I just try to give people the honest truth. We have to feed it to them the right way.” What do you think of Randy Jackson this season? Is he any different to you than any other season? Comment and share your thoughts with us below, we’d love to hear from you!
