Chef Gordon Ramsay of Kitchen Nightmares on FOX is making headlines once again. This time the popular television chef is in danger of losing his television deal with a well known UK channel. Keep reading for more details!
Just when it seems like things start to calm down for Kitchen Nightmares chef Gordon Ramsay, his name appears in yet another headline. This time UK’s Channel 4 may not renew Gordon’s 5 million dollar contract because of continued controversy and declining viewing figures. This stems from the new that he fished for sharks only 18 months before taking part in the series “The Big Fish Fight” about their indiscriminate slaughter. Now sources at the channel have admitted that the revelations could mark the end of his time as one of its highest paid stars.
This certainly does not mean they will definitely not renew his contract which ends this summer, but he may be taking a pay cut sources add. A source for the channel also said “‘It is fair to say things are very different from when we signed the previous deal.” Gordon Ramsay’s spokesperson said “through the making of his Channel 4 program he became aware that sharks are endangered and of the cruel and ‘inhumane’ practices where the animals have their fins removed while they are still alive.” Gordon Ramsay’s UK version of Kitchen Nightmares has not been recently filmed either as the last episode was made in 2009 – could it be that Gordon Ramsay is becoming less popular in the UK?
