If you haven’t heard there was a lawsuit in the land of Survivor where reporter Jim Early was being sued for releasing spoilers, including the order of contestants who left the game and the winner during season 19 and 20. In order to get himself out of trouble Jim Early spilled the beans on who was giving him this information. None other than Russell Hantz. Can you say you are surprised?
Jim Early told The Daily Beast, “I did tell them Russell Hantz was their leak. I gave him an email from Russell spoiling something. They were very happy to get that email, and I have many, many more.” This is a big deal for Russell Hantz. Not only did he compete on back to back seasons of Survivor, but he is going to be on the next season starting February 16, Survivor: Redemption Island. When he signed on to do the show he also signed a confidentiality agreement stating that he would not spill secrets of the show, including the order people were booted, information about the challenges, information about other players etc. If he did in fact leak information to a reported Russell Hantz could be sued for $5 million. It will probably also mean the end of his appearances on the popular reality show.
Russell responded to the accusation simply by commenting on his Facebook page. He stated, “If you love the game, you won’t go to spoiler sites. Like who really wants to know who wins the superbowl before you watch it play out?”
What do you think? Did Russell spill details of the show? Probably. He just seems like the type.
