It looks like the cheftestants of Top Chef: All-Stars have left New York City and are trading in their coats and mittens for shorts and sandals. TV Guide Magazine reports that the chefs of the Bravo reality series will battle it out for the title of Top Chef in the Bahamas! Keep reading for more details on the four-part Top Chef: All-Stars finale from judge Gail Simmons of Food & Wine Magazine.
Good bye snowy New York City, and HELLO BAHAMAS!
TV Guide Magazine has confirmed that the remaining cheftestants of Bravo’s Top Chef: All-Stars have left their swanky digs in Manhattan for the luxurious Atlantis resort and casino on Paradise Island in the Bahamas to film the four-part finale of the show, which Bravo will air in March.
So what was Top Chef: All-Stars judge Gail Simmons of Food & Wine Magazine’s reaction to the news that they were headed to the Bahamas to tape the rest of the show?
“Thank God! I was like, ‘It’s perfect–whatever you want!’” Simmons tells TV Guide.
Gail Simmons and Top Chef host Padma Lakshmi will be joined by a large panel of guest judges for the finale episodes–the largest panel in Top Chef history (how many “Top Chef history”-making moments have we had this season?!). Wolfgang Puck, Morimoto, Michelle Bernstein, Hubert Keller, Eric Ripert, Lidia Bastianich, Curtis Stone, Alfred Portali, Art Smith, and Lorena Garcia will all be there!
The chefs will not only be filming challenges at the Atlantis resort and casino, but they’ll also make stops at Fort Charlotte, Fish Fry–a local chefs’ hangout–and a deserted island!
“The setting gets the contestants excited because it takes them out of their element and gives them great ingredients,” says Simmons. “One challenge had them literally cooking from what was around them in the environment.”
One special treat for fans of Padma Lakshmi…. We’re told that the Top Chef host will reveal the details of one of the finale’s challenges while wearing a bikini. Get your DVR’s ready!
The four-part Top Chef: All-Stars finale will begin airing in March on Bravo.
Let us know… Which of the remaining chefs do you think will make it to the Top Chef: All-Stars finale?
