The Biggest Loser: Emotions And Milestones

February 15, 2011 07:00 PM by Lisa Princ

The Biggest Loser on NBC is back tonight for a brand new episode with more black versus red competition and drama. Emotions are starting to run high tonight and when one team loses their gym access for the entire week, will they be able to overcome it or will tear their team apart? And will we see Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels‘ black team win their third weigh in in a row? Keep reading for all the details!

The Biggest Loser kicks off tonight with the continuing battle of black versus red, but this week there is more at stake. First up for the contestants is a pop challenge issued by Ali. In this challenge, the teams must untie a rope around themselves as a team, pull it out straight and grab a key. That key would be the award for the winning team as they would have gym access alone for the week – the other team would have no gym access for the week. This was no neck in neck challenge this week as the red team blew the black team out of the water and ended up winning the challenge and the gym for the week.

Then it was time for the black team to face Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels to figure how they would get their work out in without the gym, and despite not being thrilled about it, Bob and Jillian made use of all the equipment they had available outside. Before they could make use of it however, they had to sort through some emotions that were harboring within the group. Hannah was very upset by the challenge loss and some of the other girls upset were her as they thought she was blaming them – luckily Bob and Jillian were to the rescue and were able to work things out within the black team.

Next up it was time for another challenge between the red and black teams and this time they would be pulling a train! While this may seem like an unfair advantage to the red team, they would also have to answer nutrition questions along the way. The fastest team to the end would win, but with every incorrect answer they gave, they would have to add some time to their total. The winner of this challenge would get to choose one player from the other team whose weight loss would not count at the weigh in this week. As expected the red team blew the black team away in this challenge also, especially since the only male player pulling for the black team, Arthur, could not even keep up with the train. The red team however only got one nutrition question correct, but they were so far ahead of the black team it did not matter and they won the challenge. The red team chose Irene as the weight that would not count this week.

The Biggest Loser was full of emotions and milestones this week as well. On the red team, Cara struggled with Rulon who seemed to be having emotional issues about not being able to get this weight off and keep it off. Rulon was able to see finally all that he had done and vowed to continue his hard work. On the black team, Arthur was dealing with his own emotions as well as he tried to get back on the girls’ good side, and despite all he did they were very helpful to him and even taught him a lesson or two about eating better. We even watched as Bob and Jillian pushed Arthur so much that he was able to push a pickup truck by himself – the same one he struggled with the first week with his team’s help! Both of these guys also hit milestones this week as well which are listed by their weigh in.

Then it was time for the weigh in, and this is how our black and red teams fared at this week:

Red Team

317 to 308 for a total loss of 9 lbs

218 to 211 for a total loss of 7 lbs

316 to 306 for a total loss of 10 lbs

307 to 296 for a total loss of 11 lbs

385 to 378 for a total loss of 7 lbs

382 to 371 for a total loss of 11 lbs * hit 100 lb loss this week

282 to 277 for a total loss of 5 lbs

190 to 187 for a total loss of 3 lbs

340 to 333 for a total loss of 7 lbs

Total team loss of 63 lbs (2.68 %)

Black Team

201 to 196 for a total loss of 5 lbs

212 to 208 for a total loss of 4 lbs

435 to 415 for a total loss of 20 lbs *finally hit the double digits

246 to 238 for a total loss of 8 lbs

265 to 258 for a total loss of 7 lbs

187 to 181 for a total loss of 6 lbs

208 to 206 lbs for a total loss of 2 lbs

201 to 194 for a total loss of 7 lbs

204 to 198 for a total loss of 6 lbs * weigh in did not count as chosen by the red team

Total team loss of 59 lbs (3.02%)

With the weigh in complete, it was in fact the black team who the weigh in once again – kudos to them and Bob and Jillian for making it three in a row! But that also meant someone from the red team would be sent packing, and I am sure it will come as no surprise to anyone that Jay was sent home as we knew it would be either Jay or Jen, but Jay pleaded to keep his daughter there. Jay is doing wonderfully at home however and to date has gone from 400 lbs to 289 lbs for a total loss of 111 lbs and counting. Good luck Jay, we look forward to seeing you at the finale!
