Worst Cooks in America on Food Network returns tonight for one final battle. In this episode, we’ll see Georg and Joshie duke it out to impress of panel of culinary gurus for the ultimate prize – $25k and the crown of Worst Cook In America. Think you know who takes it? Keep reading for all the details!
Worst Cooks In America kicks off their season two finale tonight with a friendly challenge between Anne Burrell and Robert Irvine which Robert challenges Anne to tone down her spikey hair and crazy skirts if he wins, in which she agrees as long as he agrees to go platinum if she wins. Then they inform both Joshie and Georg that they will preparing a three course meal at the Tribeca Grill for 3 culinary gurus which include Marc Murphy, the chef and owner of the Landmarc; Donatella Arpaia, restauranteur and cookbook author; and Drew Neporent, one of the co-owners of the Tribeca Grill.
Next it’s time for a menu rundown from the chefs. Joshie’s menu would be fried zuchinni blossom w/ roasted vegetable panzanella for an appetizer, brine pork chops with fennel sausage and swiss chard with polenta for his main course, followed by a blueberry nectarine crisp with mascarpone cheese for dessert. Georg’s menu consisted of roasted corn chowder with lobster tail salad for her appetizer, roasted rack of lamb with goat cheese over a potato cake for the main course, followed by deep fried bananas topped with honey and chocolate for dessert. The recruits then had to head to the grocery store to purchase all their ingredients, which turned into a nightmare for Georg who wound up losing her cart.
Then it was time for practice on Worst Cooks In America, where Chef Anne and Chef Robert directed the recruits how to prepare these meals. During the practice, Robert worried about Georg’s confidence level since she did not seem to have ease with her knife cuts, which is the exact reason he chose the chowder for an appetizer for her – to emphasize her great knife skills. Joshie seemed to do well during the practice, except that neither he nor Anne remembered to check the sausage in the oven, which became overcooked, as did his pork chops which got a little too brown and dried out, but Anne was confident that he could pull it off the next day.
Finally it was time for their final cooking battle. Georg seemed to do everything as planned, except for her potato cakes, which she used too much potato and they wound up not cooking thoroughly. Her lamb, however was cooked to a perfect medium which was one of Robert’s biggest fears put to rest as he worried she would under cook it. For her dessert, Robert watched her cook her bananas too soon and worried that they would be mushy. Joshie seemed to get most of his dishes done as planned, until it was time for dessert when his crisps completely bubbled over making a complete mess and Anne worried that he did not use enough crumble on them.
Then it was time for tasting and judging the recruits. The judges, who did not know whose dishes were whose were impressed right off the bat with the presentation of both appetizers. They immediately noticed the precise knife cuts in the chowder, and thought there was too much cheese in the zucchini blossom. The entrees impressed as well as they loved Joshie’s pork and sausage dish, and loved Georg’s lamb but were disappointed by the undercooked potato cakes.
When it’s time for dessert, they were impressed more by Georg’s presentation than Joshie’s but when it came to taste, Joshie’s won hands down. In the end, despite the fact that both of these recruits were winners, the judges named the winner of Worst Cooks In America season two as Joshie! And with that in mind, Robert kept true to his promise as he and Anne headed to the salon where he went platinum!
That wraps up this season of Worst Cooks In America – hope you enjoyed it as much as I did, and hopefully Robert and Anne will be back again soon for season three!
