When Cheryl Burke took home the mirror ball trophy her first year on Dancing with the Stars with partner Drew Lachey, America was hooked and she instantly because one of the favorite female dancers on the show. Cheryl Burke has released her memoir called Dancing Lessons, and in it talks about the abusive relationships she has been in, the molestation she endured as a child, self esteem and confidence issues as well as how she see’s her body now and in the past. She also discusses how the paparazzi has affected her and talks about the big relationship and breakup between Maks and Karina.
As for the paparazzi, Cheryl Burke knows they are not all bad. “I think there’s some really nice ones out there,” she says. “But I do hate the ones that make it difficult for me, the ones that have criticized my weight, the ones who have called me a party girl and have made my parents worry about me.” We can’t say we blame her and we think all stars would agree as well.
Cheryl Burke told PopEater that she saw the breakup between Maks and Karina coming and that since everyone involved probably knew it was going to happen, that it was not uncomfortable back stage. She did say however that she does not know why they are not talking now. It is not her business!
When it comes to her molestation as a child Cheryl shares that it still effects her today and that it ruined her self esteem has a teenager, causing her to get into abusive relationships. She says that she discusses it in order to help other people.
