Rosie O’Donnell, who was just featured in last night’s episode of NBC’s Who Do You Think You Are?, has made it clear that she’s a big fan of the hit series, Glee, on FOX. But lately, the outspoken talk show host has a bone to pick with the show’s creators. What’s got Rosie O’Donnell so glum about Glee?
According to Access Hollywood, Rosie O’Donnell is not happy about the character Lauren Zizes, who’s recently been added to the cast of the FOX series. Specifically, it’s Zizes’ singing ability, or lack thereof, that has the show hitting a sour note with the actress/comedian.
“I have to believe that Ryan [Murphy] and Brad [Falchuk] have something up their sleeve and that Lauren can really sing because ‘I Know What Boys Like’ last night was not what I was expecting,” O’Donnell explained. “I just was like, ‘Where’s the Susan Boyle moment? She’s gonna belt it out of the park!’ and then she did ‘I Know What Boys Like, I Know What Guys Want?’ I was like, ‘I want more than this.’”
And that’s not all…
Rosie O’Donnell also says that Glee’s Lauren Zizes character has angered a lot of her close friends saying, “It really, really strikes a chord with every overweight woman I know. That character is so unlikable. Why didn’t they get a pretty heavy girl? They should’ve gotten someone beautiful like Brooke Elliot.”
What do you think? Do you agree with Rosie O’Donnell about Glee’s casting and portrayal of Lauren Zizes, or not? Tell us about it by sounding off in the comments below!
