Tyra Banks is following in the footsteps of American Idol host Ryan Seacrest in taking on as many jobs as she possibly can. In addition to her production and judging duties on America’s Next Top Model, the business entrepreneur will be launching a new fashion and beauty site.
In a press release, it was announced that Tyra would be partnering with a Los Angeles based online publisher called Demand Media. Together, the two will be launching a new fashion and beauty site called Type F. The site is scheduled to launch on March 15th. They plan to focus on fashion and beauty by allowing women to “discover their unique personal style.”
Lisa Kraynak, the general manager and senior vice president of Demand Media, said of the venture, “This is an incredibly exciting opportunity to create a dynamic new branded consumer experience through innovative content, social media, and the inspiration of a powerful celebrity voice. The new fashion and beauty capital of the world is now the Internet.” No other details, such as interactive features or personalization options, about the site have been released.
Tyra posted a welcome message at the site and asked them to “SMIZE,” meaning, smile with your eyes. There is no mention yet if the site will have any mention of America’s Next Top Model, or feature any of the contestants from the show. Tyra loves to give advice on fashion and capitalizing on beauty strengths to the girls on her show. Perhaps the site will be a platform for Tyra to reach a broader audience.
