Want to try Dale Talde’s Ribeye Grilled Cheese & Tomato Soup? Well, we’ve got the recipe! And it’s so easy, you don’t even have to be one of Bravo’s Top Chef: All-Stars to make it! Keep reading to find out everything you’ll need to enjoy this Winning Dish!
Though Top Chef judge Anthony Bourdain says that Dale Talde’s grilled cheese is “what four jaded palates might crave at 3 a.m. at an empty Target store in New Jersey,” we’re sure that you don’t have to be jaded or in an empty Target store to enjoy this dish.
It may call for a few different ingredients and tools than you’d expect in a traditional grilled cheese recipe, but hey… it is Top Chef after all! If you want traditional, look elsewhere!
Here’s what you’ll need to make Dale’s Grilled Cheese & Tomato Soup (and yes, you can find it all at your local Target!)
To make the Grilled Cheese…
-Cheese (your choice)
1. Season the ribeye with salt and pepper and cook on a George Foreman Grill.
2. Assemble the sandwich by first buttering the bread, then top with cheese and sliced ribeye. Add to grill and top with steam iron. (Note: A CLEAN steam iron! You don’t want your sandwich to taste like spray starch and burnt cotton.)
To make the Tomato Soup…
-6 cans tomatoes
-1 quart cream
-2 ounces chipotle tobasco
-3 ounces garlic, minced
-3 ounces olive oil
-1 onion, chopped
1. Add onions, cream, tobasco, garlic, and olive oil to a pot and cook until onions are translucent.
2. Add canned tomatoes and bring to a boil.
3. Puree in blender.
Don’t forget to come back and let us all know how it was, and/or to add your own suggestions, variations of the recipe! Enjoy!
