after watching kim cattrall, I have been actively searching for my great aunt since I turned 18 in 1970.She disappeared in 1925 ands left a devastated younger brother, my grandfather. He was a truck driver and would look in telephone books where ever he traveled. We tried the ss office several times. I Went to Richmond, Va to the Vital Statistic for a birth record. Then about 1965 she wrote the school board for proof of birth. an eldery school teacher gave oral proof but living on 4 miles from my grandfather never told him but wrote a letter to a mutual friend. This friend wrote a letter to my grandfather to say how happy she was that he had finally heard from his sister but he had not. By this time the school teacher was dying and could tell them nothing. I went to the school board but they only had an index card with her name and request. In the 70s’ I also called dmv in the eastern US but could not find a drivers permit. I have paid search engines and Ancestry.com to no luck. My grandfather died in my arms and on the day of his death he still wanted to know where his sister was. After over 40 years I still have not been able to find her. My story is just like Kim’s and wondered if the show had thought about helping just an ordinary person like me. My grandfather’s only nephew also dissapeared I believe in the 1980s’ and he has not been found. Just left his family in California one day. Two family members, two different generations gone.
Would greatly appreciate any help since this show seems to have all the right research methods.
