American Idol on FOX will kick off this week on Tuesday night as the Top 12 men take the stage. Fox has implemented a new form of voting starting this week as well allowing us to vote online as well as via text message and calls. Keep reading to learn how you can vote for your favorites online!
American Idol voters will now be able to vote online after the performance shows starting this week and there is only one small catch – you must have a Facebook account, so if you don’t currently have one, you may want to head to Facebook.com and register for one. According to Fox fans can visit AmericanIdol.com immediately after the performance show is over and then log in with their Facebook accounts, choose their favorite contestant and cast their votes after entering a security code. You will be able to vote for as many contestants as you like but the online voting will be limited to 50 total votes.
Excited about this new addition, creator Simon Fuller said “We have been wanting to do online voting for several years, and now Facebook has offered us a secure solution and we are ready to go. The show has always involved a high level of engagement with its viewers through texting and phone voting, and it’s great to expand on this tradition.” Even if you are not a fan of online voting, rest assured that they will be still implementing the text and toll free phone call voting as they have always done as well.
What do you think of this new change to the voting system – are you excited about it? Comment and share your thoughts with us and then be sure to tune in at 8 pm EST on Tuesday to see the top 12 men take the stage!
