Joan & Melissa: Joan Knows Best? aired on We TV tonight and showcased Joan Rivers looking for love. In this week’s episode, “Joan Looks For Love,” the comedian finds herself dancing, riding a motorcycle and target shooting with her many admirers!
Joan just returned from New York, and it’s the first time Joan and Melissa have seen each other since they had one of their biggest fights ever. The mother and daughter hug and apologize to one another. Joan doesn’t miss a beat and soon she’s suggesting to Melissa that it’s time for Melissa and Jason, to make a true commitment to one another. With that, Joan gives Melissa a family heirloom ring. It’s Melissa’s old engagement ring. Melissa tells Jason about the ring and they start to talk about themselves and their relationship. Both agree that they are happy with the way things are and don’t want to get married at the moment.
Jason then has an idea! He mentions to Melissa that Joan should start dating so she can worry about herself instead of them. Melissa eases Joan into the idea of dating by telling her it’s time for Joan to go out more and meet people. Joan agrees to go on some dates and that’s when the fun begins! Melissa and Joan go shopping for her dates. Joan approached it with her amusing attitude.
Also, Joan and Melissa want to remove the “bad” vibes in the house, so they invite an old family friend, Sally Glassman over. Melissa refers to Sally as a “spiritual adviser” who performs a cleansing ritual.
First Joan goes on a date out to dinner with, Barry. During the date, Barry starts to tell Joan all about his “passion” squid fishing! That doesn’t sit well with Joan who goes home and tells Melissa all about her adventure. Next, Joan goes out with one of Margie’s friends: Don, a former dancer. He takes Joan dancing and during one of their laps around the dance floor, they fall down. When Joan got home, she tells Melissa about the date, but thinks her and Don would be better as friends.
Joan decides to go on another date. This time she meets Alan at a gun club. Joan and Alan do some target shooting and Joan has a great time. Joan tells Melissa and Sabrina about her date with Alan and reveals she really enjoyed herself. Melissa and Sabrina convince Joan to call Alan. She does and Alan says he will be very busy the next couple of weeks. Joan says rejection is difficult at any age.
Melissa’s neighbor Peter suggests another date for Joan and she accepts. Last, Joan goes out with Jerome who picks her up on his motorcycle and takes her to his Malibu home for a beachfront date. Joan gets home from the date and tells Melissa that she has figured something out. Joan says that she loves her family and her friends and enjoys being single. Joan also says that while she doesn’t understand why Melissa and Jason won’t get married, she says she is ok with their choice.
