Finally. It’s here. The stage is set. Francesca vs Matt. After three weeks of watching Survivor: Redemption Island, we will have the first official elimination this week. Although two people have been voted off so far, both players are still active participants in the game due to season 22′s new twist, which is also the subtitle, Redemption Island. Their torches have already been snuffed, so what happens next? Read on for more!
The first duel of the season will strike early in this week’s episode from Redemption Island as Francesca, who was the first person voted off, will go toe-to-toe with Matt, who was booted last week in a huge blindside orchestrated by Boston Rob.
As executive producer Mark Burnett revealed to reporters before the season began, the duels will be witnessed by members of the tribes who voted them out. This still leaves some questions unanswered since both Francesca and Matt are from the same tribe — Ometepe. Will it only be Ometepe tribe members invited to sit on the duel’s sidelines? I don’t see any reason why Zapatera’s members have reason to be present.
As we all know, the player who wins the duel will stay on Redemption Island and wait for the next person voted out to join them. Then, another battle takes place. The duel’s loser won’t have their torch extinguished for a second time. Instead, that player will remove their buff and toss it into a fire.
Will host Jeff Probst cut them loose for good with another tagline? Or will “The tribe has spoken” be uttered again?
