March 07, 2011 02:00 PM by Lisa Princ

Last night on NBC we saw the series premiere of America’s Next Great Restaurant with Curtis Stone. Curtis Stone, who seems to be popping up everywhere these days, recently chatted about the show. Keep reading for more details!

America’s Next Great Restaurant investor and judge, Curtis Stone is all over our television sets these days and he recently chatted about his new gig on the show. While I think most of us thought that Bobby Flay was the biggest investor, Curtis Stone said “We’re all equal investors in terms of our financial commitment to it, which means we get an equal say in how this is going to work” of himself, Bobby Flay, Chipotle founder Steve Ells and Miami restaurateur Lorena Garcia although he would not disclose just how much they were investing.

So how did Curtis Stone get this gig on the show? Our favorite Aussie chef says that he was approached by NBC about the show, and while normally when they are offered a position there is nothing but excitement, but this time was different. Curtis said “This was different because they actually wanted us to get our checkbooks out. It was interesting because normally when you walk into a meeting with network executives, you kiss their ass, but this time I had a bunch of questions.”
