Survivor: Redemption Island — One Man Brought To Tears

March 09, 2011 10:00 AM by Ryan Haidet

For the first time in his Survivor career, Russell Hantz was voted out of the game during his tribe’s first Tribal Council last week.  Now living on Redemption Island, Russell will square off against Matt in the second duel of the season.  Who will prevail?  Which guy will shed tears as they burn their buff and walk away from the game forever following Francesca’s footsteps?  Read on for more details about tonight’s episode of Survivor: Redemption Island!

According to a CBS press release, during the fourth episode, “Secrets are revealed on Redemption Island and the second duel reduces one castaway to tears when he is eliminated from the game for good.”

Looking further at the episode — which has been titled “Don’t You Work For Me?” — a preview video on CBS.com, Russell is showed saying he really likes Matt.  “If this was the real world, I’d be rooting for Matt.  But it’s not.  This is Survivor.”  On the flip side, Matt addresses Russell’s villain status while saying he hopes to win the duel because he’s fighting to honor his God.

The challenge at the duel is some sort of domino-style contest with Phillip and Kristina chosen as witnesses for Ometepe along with Sarita and Ralph for Zapatera.  The teaser video promises that what happens “will shock you.”

Could Russell, who has called himself the LeBron James of Survivor, finally learn what it’s like to be booted from the game?

A contestant crying should be enough to tell you who goes home!
