Last week, America was introduced to Marc Paskin, the president of Paskin Properties, a division of The Paskin Group, a privately owned real estate investment and management company. He went to Detroit, Michigan and lived in a one bedroom home. As Paskin ended his time in Detroit he gifted ten thousand dollars to the M.A.N.Network, presented the Young Detroit Builders program with a forty thousand dollar check, gave Really Living a check for forty thousand dollars and gave his new friend Courtney, a check for twenty thousand dollars.
Also, in the premiere episode, viewers watched as successful entrepreneur Dani Johnson left her family and luxurious lifestyle behind to spend six days in one of the most impoverished areas of Knoxville, Tennessee. Johnson decided to give a family in need, ten thousand dollars; a non-profit organization, Special Spaces thirty thousand dollars; the Love Kitchen, a place where members of the community can come to get food, twenty thousand dollars and wrote a check to The Joy of Music School for forty thousand dollars.
The millionaire’s generosity has inspired many to volunteer in their community. ABC has listed some ways on their website for you to give back. Here are some tips they have put together to help you get involved:
-Research causes/issues that are important to you
-Consider the skills you already have and how they can help others
-Don’t over-commit your schedule
