American Idol: Jennifer Lopez Chats About The Show

March 20, 2011 08:00 AM by Lisa Princ

It’s no secret that American Idol on FOX‘s judge Jennifer Lopez is enjoying her gig on the show. Recently, this busy mom took some time to chat about the show, the judges and the contestants this season. Keep reading to hear what Jennifer had to say!

American Idol’s Jennifer Lopez recently spoke with USA Today about the show in which she said “I love it. I’m having a ball with it. Working with Randy and Steven is a riot. You never know what’s going to happen. You never know what’s going to come out of Steven’s mouth. It’s a lot of fun.” She also goes on to share how excited she is that people are loving the new season as she added “I’m glad people are loving the season. We’re putting our hearts and souls into it. We take it seriously but we don’t take ourselves seriously and we’re just having a ball with it.”

Jennifer Lopez, who associated herself quite a bit this season to our most recently eliminated contestant, Karen Rodriguez, says she can relate to the contestants as “When they overcome the nervousness and the pressure, the whole thing, I understand and I feel like it’s taking the dream with them. That’s why when they perform, I get the most excited and when they have to leave, I feel it, too, because I do identify with every single thing that’s happening to them.” She also dished a bit about her upcoming album, “Love” which is due out next month saying “It’s very much me, but me today. And I have the producers to thank for that, because I can bring me to the table and what I want to say and what my message is and the things I want to write about or talk about but then they have to convert that into the sound and the melody and all those things and they really did that.”

I really like the show alot this season,Jennifer, and Steven add so much to it.
i’m a little dissapointed that the fans have
all the control with voting.people really need to take into consideration that yes its about singing
but you really do have to have the star power too.
I hate to critize Lee D.but he has no star power
at all.Naima this season has it.as does Pia and James.if Casey A.wins this season then i’m done with it.i see him more as a comedian than a singer I really don’t think he’s funny either.if this show is gonna continue the winner needs to win.

I’m Casey Abrams’ uncle. She has the hots for my nephew, and that makes her a star in my book! lol

Seriously, she is totally gorgeous and delightful as a judge…go J-Lo!

You are the most beautiful woman on the planet since Sophia Loren. You’ve set a kinder and much more inspiring tone for this show. Plus the talent is mind boggleing. That being said, there are three kids who blow me away and I can’t remember names, but they all remind me of other eras. The Italian boy is Paul Anka-ish and it’d be wondrous to see him do “Venus”. The Lady who can dance and dresses like I’d love to if I had the bod has a Judy Garland thing goin on. She could slay the old standard “The Man Who got Away”. Casey should tackle old Doors. These kids make me feel like there’s hopein this world.
