Dancing with the Stars premiered with a surprise breakout star in former Karate Kid Ralph Macchio. He and his professional partner, Karina Smirnoff received the highest scores of the night with their fox trot. Karina recently spoke out on how she really feels about her partner, Ralph, and the possibility of having Charlie Sheen as a future partner.
Speaking with the LA Times, Karina knows how lucky she is to have Ralph as a partner. “I got lucky. Seriously, it’s like the gods said, ‘Karina, we give you Ralph.’” The judges were not the only ones that were surprised by the pair’s performance. “We were totally surprised. Couldn’t you tell by my reaction?” The pair already has great chemistry, which was evident in their practice sessions as Karina imitated Ralph’s famous crane move from the Karate Kid. Karina said, “I don’t think there is a person on Earth who hasn’t watched ‘The Karate Kid,’ but I’m a huge Ralph fan because of ‘The Outsiders.’”
Even though Karina and Ralph should do very well during this competition, she has still thought about who she would like to partner up with on future competitions. She is a fan of High School Musical and said, “I think Corbin Blue would be a great dancer.” She also is a fan of John Stamos. “If he doesn’t take Charlie Sheen’s place on “Two and a Half Men,” I think he’d be a great addition.” Karina then considered the possibility of having Charlie Sheen on the show. “Oh my God, Charlie Sheen is on the perfect road to being the next contestant on ‘Dancing with the Stars.’ It’d be a perfect fit. We’d be ‘duh…winning.’”
