Secret Millionaire: on ABC is a new reality series, where six of America’s most successful business people will spend a week in the country’s poorest areas, ending their stay by giving members of the community hundreds of thousands of dollars of their own money. Keep reading to meet this week’s millionaire.
So far, America has been introduced to Marc Paskin, the president of Paskin Properties, a division of The Paskin Group, a privately owned real estate investment and management company who went to Detroit, Michigan; successful entrepreneur Dani Johnson, who left her family and luxurious lifestyle behind to spend six days in one of the most impoverished areas of Knoxville, Tennessee, and James Malinchak, a business and motivational speaker who runs a training, seminar, coaching and consulting business who traveled to Gary, Indiana, a city hit hard by the economic downturn. All gifted money to organizations and people in the communities, where they were undercover as secret millionaires.
Now, meet John Ferber. Born in Baltimore, Ferber now resides in South Florida. He along with his brother Scott, co-founded Advertising.com, which was acquired by Times Warner in 2004. The website is one of the world’s largest interactive Marketing Services Companies.
In 2007, the entrepreneur turned his attention toward philanthropy, specifically investigating new cutting edge ways to help those in need by using the Internet. He came up with Microgiving.com, which allows people the platform to use “their passions, projects, talents, ideas or dream into something that helps others.”
In tonight’s episode, Ferber will travel to Los Angeles–known as the homeless capitol of the county–in search of people making a difference in the lives of those in need.
