FOX‘s American Idol creator, Simon Fuller announced that he will be managing both the season 10 winner and runner up. This will be the first time since Adam Lambert that Simon has taken such a hands on approach. Keep reading for all the details!
That’s right, this season’s winner and runner up of American Idol comes with an extra perk as creator and executive producer Simon Fuller, in partnership with 19 Entertainment and CKX, Inc., will manage season 10’s winner and runner-up, according XIX Entertainment. Simon Fuller, who previously has guided the careers of such former Idols as Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Jordin Sparks, David Cook and Chris Daughtry, did not manage anyone from last season. He did manage and launch Adam Lambert’s post Idol career and as Adam continues to become one of the biggest post Idol success stories which says a lot about having Simon Fuller involved.
Interscope’s Jimmy Iovine thinks it is a great idea as he stated “Simon possesses an incredible track record as an artist manager and this is a win-win for everyone. The fact that he will be guiding the careers of the winner and runner up is a tremendous boost for American Idol’s talent and in many ways, it’s also part of the prize.” But he is not the only one, as the show’s host Ryan Seacrest also issued a statement saying “Past winners have become stars under Fuller’s guidance, and I’m psyched that this year’s American Idol winner will have the opportunity to work with him to cultivate their respective promising careers. It’s going to be exciting to watch.”
