The Biggest Loser: Bad Decisions

March 29, 2011 07:36 PM by Lisa Princ

Tonight on a brand new episode of The Biggest Loser on NBC the newly formed teams must partake in a pop challenge which will send one team off the ranch for a week. We also watch the teams participate in an egg hunt, meet some eliminated players and watch as some bad decisions hurt a few players at this week’s weigh in. Keep reading for all the details on tonight’s explosive episode!

The Biggest Loser kicks off tonight as Ali Sweeney meets up with the players to introduce them to the 12th team that never had a chance to make it to the ranch. This mother and son team came back to the ranch to see if either of them could beat Kaylee’s percentage of weight loss, since hers was the lowest. Despite losing 75 lbs between the pair, it was not enough to get either one of them back on campus and they quickly said goodbye to the contestants.

Next up was a pop challenge in which the teams had to carry a board with 2 balls on it and drop the balls into a basket. Only two players from each team could participate and the first team to ten would end up winning. The winning team would get a 1 minute head start on the next challenge, while the losing team would get the entire week off the ranch. The green team was the quickest tonight as they hit 10 much earlier than anyone else did. Following them was the black team, and then it was down to the blue and red team, but the red team could not make it quick enough, giving them the loss and the week off the ranch.

Before they left however, Alison gave them $1000 and a list in which they had to decide on certain luxuries they wanted for the week. They had the option to choose their own groceries versus a personal chef which would have cost them a lot more. Most of their decisions were good as they choose a gym membership and creating their own meals, but in a moment of bad judgment they choose not to spend the $200 on their trainer, Brett instead they spent it on a spa trip and a dinner out. When Brett heard this news he was upset, but he did the only thing he could do and that was talk with the girls and give them a list of things to do and not do since he would not see them all week – but would it be enough?

Meanwhile, Cara’s team was busy making up for the game playing last week. Cara made sure she worked Kaylee extra hard just in case Kaylee had even the tiniest thought of throwing another weigh in. Bob Harper took his blue team to visit some local inner city schools this week and get the kids motivated and moving which proved to be a fun experience for all involved! Jillian Michaels’ and Bob once again worked their teams out together, which benefited both as Bob was able to get Rulon to do a hand stand while Jillian worked with Moses and did some boxing which he was missing.

Then it was time for the challenge on The Biggest Loser and this week it was an Easter Egg Hunt. Each team would have to collect eggs in their team color, with the most eggs winning tickets to see the movie premiere of “Hop”. There was also a “golden egg” which had a surprise inside for one player who would find it. The green team got a one minute head start since they won the last challenge and it played to their advantage as they wound up winning this challenge as well and the “Hop” tickets. But the green team wasn’t the only winner in this challenge as Olivia was lucky enough to find the “golden egg”. In fact most of her team seemed more interested in finding that egg than collecting their own but it proved to be disappointing as Olivia’s prize inside that egg was that she would have the only vote in the elimination room this week – pending the blue team did not fall below, or the red team who only had two players.

After their last chance workouts, here is how the team fared at this week’s weigh in:

Green Team
272 to 265 for a total loss of 7 lbs

263 to 257 for a total loss of 7 lbs

174 to 169 for a total loss of 5

Total team loss of 18 lbs (2.54%)

Red Team

187 to 187 for a total loss of 0 lbs

234 to 232 for a total loss of 2 lbs

Total team loss of 2 lbs (.48%)

Blue Team
300 to 293 for a total loss of 7 lbs

180 to 176 lbs for a total loss of 4 lbs

173 to 170 for a total loss of 3 lbs

Total team loss of 14 lbs (2.14%)

Black Team
330 to 325 for a total loss of 5 lbs

172 to 172 for a total loss of 0 lbs

282 to 276 for a total loss of 6 lbs

Total team loss of 11 lbs (1.40%)

Before we got to the elimination, or lack of, we learned a shocker about one player. It turns out the reason that Rulon has not been having good losses each week is because he snacks more than he should be and gets up at night to eat. Definitely another bad decision that could have cost him this week if his team lost. The red team lost though with the lowest percentage of weight loss and it was automatic elimination for Jennifer who lost nothing. Jennifer to date is doing well at home and is currently down to 173 lbs, pushing her over the 100 lb mark – congrats to Jennifer!

Tune in next Tuesday at 8 pm EST for a brand new episode of The Biggest Loser on NBC as it looks as though drama is back as one player returns!
