Once again, the title of Top Chef has eluded Antonia Lofaso, but in her official exit interview, the last female chef in the competition reveals what she hopes her time on the Bravo reality show taught her daughter, and which contestants she plans on keeping in touch with now that she’s home.
It seemed as though Antonia Lofaso was on her way to the Top Chef finale, but after two failed challenges in last week’s episode, and a surprise mini-challenge where she lost to cousin Mike Isabella, Lofaso was finally sent home from the competition.
In her exit interview, Lofaso says that despite Mike Isabella’s admission that he tried to get her sent home so he could face Richard Blais in the Top Chef finale, she thinks that his decision was more about keeping himself safe than anything else.
And though she wishes she would have made it all the way to the end, Antonia says that she’s happy to be going home to her daughter, and proud of the example that she’s set for her by being a part of the show — to always love what you do, and be passionate about it.
As for which of her Top Chef compadres she plans on staying in touch with now that she’s done with the show, Lofaso says that Carla Hall and Tiffany Derry — the ladies that were with her almost to the very end — will always have a special place in her heart…and we’re sure on her speed dial!
