American Idol: Performance Show Boosts Elton John’s Music Sales

After watching his songs performed by the top eleven on FOX‘s American Idol the Rocket Man also known as Elton John has a reason to celebrate – the show boosted sales of his tunes! Keep reading for more details!

American Idol’s Elton John performances paid off nicely for the Rocket Man last week as his Rocket Man Number Ones compilation jumped more than 400% in weekly sales. And if that was not enough, four of his songs that were performed by the finalists wound up making Nielsen SoundScan’s list of the week’s 200 top-selling digital tracks. The top selling track was “Tiny Dancer” that was performed last week by Stefano Langone, which saw 14,000 sales a boost of 217% for a total sales of almost 1.2 million.

The other songs of Elton John to jump in sales for the week were “Benny and The Jets” which sold nearly 14,000 for a boost of 433% bringing the total sales to 697,000 followed by “Your Song” which sold 13,000 copies, jumping 407% for a total of 718,000 sales. Finally, “Rocket Man” saw 10,000 in sales jumping 235% to give the popular tune a total of 770,000 in sales. What did you think of the Elton John performances?
