After several weeks of low scores, Wendy Williams and partner Tony Dovalani were eliminated from Dancing with the Stars. During the elimination show before she learned her fate, Wendy stated that she hoped she could stay and dance because she was showing a lot of progress. However, upon learning she was eliminated, she changed her mind and stated that she was happy to go home.
Wendy revealed to People Magazine that the time she had to put into rehearsals and performances took a toll on her personal and professional life. “I don’t feel like I deserved any of the scores that I got, but still I am ironically pleased to be going home. I have neglected personally my 10-year-old son, I have a 12-year marriage and I’ve got a talk show that demands my attention.” Wendy also has a pending lawsuit to handle.
Wendy went on to say that her audience still likes her. “I know I make some people cringe. But I also know my willingness to expose myself, warts and all, is part of the reason people are drawn to me. With me, what you see is what you get.”
Wendy did admit she will miss Tony. “There are a number of things, actually, I will miss about Tony, including him asking me to please stand up straight. This was a fun experience, but I think it’s time for me to go home.” While I disagree with Wendy and believe she got the scores she deserved, I do agree it was time for her to go home. Some of the others are way ahead of her, and I didn’t see her catching up to them.
