Kendra Wilkinson and partner Louis Van Amstel found themselves in jeopardy this week on Dancing with the Stars. While dancing a sexy rumba dedicated to her husband Hank Wilkinson, Kendra got off to a shaky start. The mishap was due to the show’s special effects and use of a smoke machine. Kendra is speaking out about how much the incident scared her.
Kendra and Louis’s dance began with her to walk out through the smoke. The smoke clouds completely engulfed Kendra as she walked through them and she was visibly startled as she hurried down the stairs to begin her dance. Kendra revealed to E! News, “The smoke was overwhelming. We didn’t practice that. I didn’t know where the steps were. I couldn’t see one step in front of me.”
While Kendra knew the smoke would be there, she pleaded against using it. “I was fighting not to have it. I was asking people, ‘Please, I don’t want to use this smoke machine.’ And they go, ‘Don’t worry. We promise it will look good.’ But I made sure everyone knew that I didn’t want it. But what happened was exactly what I thought was going to happen. I didn’t know where I was. I freaked out. I actually had a full dance routine in that smoke, but I actually had to stop the dance in the middle of the stage to find my way out of that smoke.”
While the smoke did mess up the beginning of Kendra’s routine, at least she was not eliminated and will have another chance to redeem herself on the next episode.
