American Idol: Audience Member Banned From Front Row Due To Weight

April 13, 2011 09:00 AM by Lisa Princ

Weighing only around 150 lbs, a California teen is claiming that she was banned from sitting in the front row of American Idol on FOX during a recent episode. That’s a harsh claim – would the show really move someone out of the front row for being overweight? Keep reading to find out more!

That is exactly what Ashley Kauffman claims happened to her recently on American Idol on FOX. The 19 year old from California won tickets for the front row for her and friends, but she got there she was told by an Idol employee that she was “too big” for the front row. Ashley Kauffman told Mailonline that upon her arrival to the show “There were two ladies and one said: ‘Oh, I don’t want shorts in front’, about my friend. Then she looked at me and said: ‘Oh no, you’re too big, too heavy to be in front!’”

Fuming from the incident Ashley Kauffman went on to say “It makes me mad that they would jump to the conclusion that I’m heavy because I eat a lot” as she continues to tell the story of her weight issues being associated with other health issues she suffers from. The teen goes to share that after she was escorted away from her front row seats, two skinny girls in little dresses were then placed in the seats that she should have been in. Ashley wants the show to know that she was hurt by this and says “I want an apology. It was wrong. I want to speak up and make sure it’s known how they treated me.” No comments from the show yet – we’ll have to see if they reply to these allegations.

If this is true, American Idol workers should be fired. I find it hard to believe that the story is complete and true.

Well I watched the video interview of this girl and if I was on a jury I’d say she was telling the truth. She says in the interview she does NOT WANT ANY MONEY, ONLY AN APOLOGY.

And you know what, from the way News Crop / Fox News Operates on a regular basis, I believe Ashley Kauffman.

Seems to me American Idol, News Corp, and Fox News are more worried about being sued, then they are about punishing an employee or apologizing to Ashley.

More Like American idiots Over There.

I’ve noticed that on Idol. If you look behind the judge’s panel, the girls in the front row are thin, teen model types. It looks intentional. Kinda shallow. This show is such a sham.
