He may “woo” us week after week with his angelic sound on American Idol on FOX, but TMZ is reporting that top seven finalist Jacob Lusk actually spent some time singing in the slammer before his Idol debut. But what could this Gospel music crooner possibly have done to land him there to begin with? Keep reading for all the details!
That’s right, according to TMZ, one of American Idol’s biggest voices this season actually got some practice in the slammer before the season started. Jacob Lusk, according to the site was cited back in 2009 for hopping on a metro train without buying a ticket. Jacob blew off his court hearing and an arrest warrant was issued. Apparently right after Jacob auditioned and won the judges over, he was pulled over for a traffic stop and when the officer found his warrant, he was arrested on the spot.
Jacob Lusk was then sent to the slammer for 3 days where it is said that he spent his time singing to the other inmates! According to TMZ, the inmates loved his tunes but the guard on duty was not a fan screaming over the loudspeaker “This isn’t a f**king singing contest”, but another guard loves his farewell song on his last day there and told Jacob that it was “bad ass”. Jacob then went back to court after serving his time and begged the judge to drop his probation, claiming the show would not let him on if he was on probation. The judge lifted Jacob’s probation – luckily for Jacob and us or we would have never been able to hear him sing!
